    Great Tips for Big Decisions

Making A Small Space Appear Larger: In real estate, there is no commodity more luxurious than space. Making the best use of every square inch can give a more open, spacious feel and flow to any space. Here are some tips for making smaller spaces appear larger.

Color: Light colors are more reflective than darker ones, and thus bounce light around better, making the room appear larger. However, you can emphasize the coziness of a room by painting it a darker color. Additionally, if flooring is kept darker and walls lighter, the floor space will appear to expand!

Discard Too Big Furniture: It can make a room look even smaller. Appropriately proportioned furniture that is in scale with the room can still offer comparable functionality without over-crowding a space.

Arrange Furniture at Angles: Arranging furniture at angles is effective since the longest straight line in any given room is its diagonal, thus angled furniture draws the eye along the longer lines in the room.

Artwork: Hang artwork midway down the walls to create the illusion of a higher ceiling.

De-clutter: Keeping rooms free of clutter and using minimalist decorating styles can enhance the sense of space in a room.

Mirrors: A well-known tip, mirrors reflect light around a room thus adding more depth to a room. Large mirrors on the wall or over vanities can make really make a space seem much larger.

Go multifunctional: Investing in items that can serve multiple purposes or have inbuilt storage can help reduce clutter, for example, an ottoman with built in storage is a great place for magazines.
